Raising incendiary slogans against India, supporting Kashmiri azaadi , eulogising terrorist Afzal Guru as a martyr, by groups of left wing students of JNU is reprehensible. We normally hear such provocative slogans as part of post-Friday-prayers ritual in Srinagar. Never, in Delhi. JNU is not a "disputed" territory. It never had a history of raising slogans like: “Kashmir ki Azaadi tak jung rahegi, jung rahegi”. Undoubtedly, the right to “ Freedom of Speech”,was misused and abused. The ubiquitous posters pasted across JNU campus inviting others to join the protest march against the "judicial killing of Afzal Guru and Maqbool Bhatt”. It is a fashion in JNU campus to inflame passions by making provocative slogans to incite fellow students. One hopes, invoking Section 124-A of IPC (sedition) in FIR by Delhi Police stands the scrutiny in court of law. Attempts will be made ( with covert support of some political parties ) to get the FIR quashed. Be that as it may, India cannot remain a mute bystander. All this seems part of a larger conspiracy hatched by enemies within, with secret support of the ISI and its moles. The crisis may escalate. The sensitive spots must remain under IB’s scanner leaving no room for complacency. The Media ( both Print and TV) must act responsibly and refrain from giving undue publicity to the traitors who are responsible for the mess.
